Guild Policy
MISSION: VooDoo is a focused raiding guild that strives on progression as a group, to have fun, act respectfully and maturely, to not take the game too seriously, and, above all, to remember your real life! To accomplish this, the guild has established some goals. The goal in raiding is completing instances, and helping the guild progress as a whole. For PvP, its about having a team of players that can dominate the battle grounds and arenas while gathering honor and its rewards. Guild Structure and Organization:
Recruitment: Lower level recruits are only invited on a case-by-case basis. Lower level recruits should be aware that this guild is about running the higher level instances. Do not expect higher level characters to help you level. The invite will be probationary for the first two weeks, while the applicants playing are assessed. During this time the behavior and performance of applicants will be considered and a choice made whether to retain them as a guildie. Applicants who do not fit what we are looking for will be removed. Do not be surprised if many fail to remain in the guild past their probationary period. The Guild Leader and Deputy Guild Leaders or Advisors reserve the right to decide that certain individuals have qualified themselves ahead of the probationary period. Any information that guild members have, negative or positive, on the possible recruit will also be weighed in. Note that there may be rare, special situations that could cause alterations to this policy. Please view our "Looking to Join" forum for more info on the classes we are currently looking at recruiting. Groups: We are all family and the actions of one member affect the entire guild. We frown upon any behavior that looks bad on VooDoo. This would include anyone who would intentionally wipe a group to leave, or ditch for any reason. It is bad public relations, and unprofessional. This goes for both PUGs and Guild runs. It is not a good for an officer to hear people reporting that guild members just dumped some group. Everyone runs into bad groups and we are not saying you must put up with newbies, but do not leave perfectly good groups to run with friends, start over with the guild, because they didn't get the piece they wanted, or weren't willing to work their way through a tough encounter. This is unacceptable. You represent VooDoo!
Raids: All class items are currently rolled on. A guild officer generally the master looter or raid leader will be in charge of distributing the loot to the raid. Players of the proper class that wish to roll on an item may do so at the end, after everyone has passed on an item. Leaving the guild will result in being placed on a “No Return” list. Players who do not actively raid with the guild within a 15 day period will be demoted to the next rank below, their current rank. After 30 days of inactive raiding or participating in other guild activities, the player maybe removed from the guild.

Raid Start Times: Currently, raids begin on Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm server time. Everyone should be online and ready to raid at least 15 minutes before the start of a raid. If you are in the raid lock-out queue it means you will be available unless otherwise noted. If you are on your alt when invites go out, you will lose your priority. The idea is to have people online and ready to raid before the first pull. You are required to have all reagents and be repaired as well. During a raid a member may be replace due to lack of performance or issue relating to computer connectivity, paying attention to the raid leader, or going AFK for too long of a period. If you are AFK for more than “FIVE” minutes you will be removed from the raid and replaced. The Raid Schedule will be posted on the Calendar on the Guild Website.
Raid Penalties
Raid Signups:Raid Signups close at 6:30pm the day of the raid. This will give the raid leader and officer’s ample time to look over the signups and Queued members. A player might be swapped out if their game play has been poor. This will ensure that players perform to the best of their ability as well as to ensure that we have a viable raid. This may cause some slight problems as certain people may be in the "swap" groups more than they would like, but it will be based on performance. Some performance issues to keep in mind is damage dealt, healing done, curing done, listening to the raid leader, going AFK, showing up early, leaving early, staying until the raid is called, etc. If you are constantly left out, you may want to ask, politely and respectfully, why? This isn't done randomly. if you're excluded there's likely a good reason for it. We are not disposing of the signups and placing everyone in Queue to be handpicked, but we will be carefully viewing who is in Queue, who made the signups, and was not playing well in the past. There could be a great variety of reasons, but you should NOT whisper asking for an explanation during the raid. You can wait until after the raid, or even better, sends an in game mail or forum PM. Our main goal in choosing who we take to raids is a good raid composition. That is why signups are designed the way they are, generally speaking. However, the
Come prepared: The Raid Leader, GUILD MANAGER, and Guild Officers have better things to do than to inspect every single person in the raid to ensure that they brought the appropriate gear, potions, mods, ventrilo, etc. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fully prepared before the raid. If you aren't, expect to receive a whisper informing you that you are being removed from the raid for the violation. We don't have time to spend an hour troubleshooting your out-of-date or broken mods - you should do that on your own time!
Raiding Outside The Guild: You NEED to get permission to run any RAID outside the guild. You also NEED to get permission if you wish to go on
Example 1: We are running Naxx and a player whispers an officer asking to run Naxx with a pug group. The answer is NO because we are running Naxx and need members to be available for guild raids in case needed.
Example 2: A player whispers an officer to run a raid while we are in Naxx. There are only 22 people running Naxx at that current time. The answer would be NO because we would need him to run Naxx with us.
This is a blanket policy, and exceptions are made. To have an exception made for you: contact the Guild Manager or Deputy GM, explain the run, and explain why you should be able to go. If the Guild Manager or Deputy GM gives you permission, you are free to go. If he says "NO", that is it. It is not a debate/discussion; it is a request that has been denied.
Guild Bank: Each guildie that has achieved full member status has the option to ask for items from the guild bank. They would do this by submitting an application to the GUILD MANAGER, or Class Officer via in-game mail. The title will be the item they are requesting and then body will explain why they need it. We do not want people requesting items more than four levles higher than their character or items that they will not use. The bank will examine the requests at the end/beginning of the week, and send the items out. Generally, the bank sells items requested of it for 1/4 to 1/3 the current asking price (based on the AH or WOWecon.com). This is judged by the Bank at the time the mail is sent COD. If there is more than one request for an item, the Guild Leader will contact the requesting parties to work out an arrangement.
BoEs: BoEs are used to assist those members who need to improve their stats for future raid progression or are used to enchant gear for guild members.
Attitude/Behavoral: We expect general respect for the Guild Leadership as well as fellow guild members. A positive attitude is highly desired. A **negative attitude** can result in punishment, such as being demoted and in extreme cases guild removal. We demand respectful language, which omits derogatory language, extreme cursing, disrespect, racial related comments, belittling, and general perversion in GUILD chat or Officer chat*. Also, links to websites with perverse material should not be stated within GUILD chat* or posted on the forums. If any guild member has a problem with ANY Initiate/Member/Advisor, the Guild Manager will attempt to solve the issue in whispers. DO NOT bring problems in to GUILD chat, Officer chat or Ventrilo. Members and Officers should not conduct themselves negatively toward other guild members or officers*, if so; you could be demoted to the "QUIET ZONE" and even demoted to a lower rank in guild or removed from guild. Even if you are right, you only make things worse when you bringing arguments into Ventrilo or GUILD chat (includes Officer chat)*, or attack someone on the forums.
*Note: This policy affects any form of guild chat or ventrilo chat. We expect the common courtesy that if someone is offended you will cease that behavior.
Negative Attitude: Voicing distaste for the guild as a whole and/or guild members, as well as complaining about guild activities/policies/general way of conducting itself. (Within this policy we do allow for a negative attitude, but not consistently or to a degree where it disrupts guild activities or the guild as a whole)
Inactivity Policy: 1. Minimum offline time of 2 weeks may result in removal from the guild.
2. Prior Notification is required for extended (Longer then 2 weeks offline) offline time. Please contact a GUILD Manager, via, in-game mail, PM, or use the post on our forums designated for that purpose.
3. Individuals who "AFK" out of the guild may have a chance to return to VooDoo assuming a probationary period and a stripping of all earned ranks. This "chance" comes from applying like any non-guildie would do. The benefit/Curse is that we know you to an extent already. If said person "AFKS" out during their probationary period it is highly unlikely they will be re-invited. We operate under a monarchy, so speed at which you gain ranks could range from instantly to "Good Behavior" and "Time Served." Rank earning after stripping also depends on Justification for extended leave. GUILD RANK is a privilage, not a right. You must earnt it!
RAID POLICY:
Raid Sign Ups: 1. Will be done Via this Website Calendar (Schedule) 2. Keep in mind when you sign up for a raid, if you do not meet raid requirements, you run the risk of being swapped out for someone who does. 3. Raid invites start at approximately 7:00-7:15pm server time, you must be online at this time to receive an invite. 4. First pull is usually 15 minutes are Raid is formed, Server time. 5. Raid Leaders have the right to swap players out, if DPS, Healing, ect. is not where it should be.
Raid Requirements: 1. Items (Gear) a. 10 Man Raids: Gear must be 70 blues or higher, or officer approved greens. b. 25 Man Raids: Gear must be 80 blues or higher, or officer approved gear.
ANY raid during a time we are raiding the same instance. This includes all 25 person raids. 10 person raids can be pugged or ran with within the GUILD.
Raid Leader and GUILD MANAGER reserves the right to make switches or choices.
RAID MODS: These MODS allows the raid leader to quickly assess player status and gives the healers a single interface to heal any and all players regardless of what group they are in. One of the biggest necessary items for a successful raid is the ability to communicate with people. Ventrilo is non-negotiable, you MUST have it. You are not required to have a microphone but you need the ability to HEAR what raid-leaders are saying in-game.
2. All Items must have a beneficial enchant.
3. Any item that has the option to have a gem, should be socketed with the best possible gem.
4. Beneficial ELIXIR’S, POTS and BUFF FOOD will be brought to every raid.
5. If you are having problems meeting the requirements, see speak to your Class Advisor .
LOOT POLICY:
As we have progressed farther in the game and the issue has come up regarding loot and priority on rolls, the officers have met and discussed this issue in great detail. We do not feel DKP or another point system would be beneficial to our guild and members. We have decided on a system that we call the "Loyalty Loot System". The rolls and rules of this system will be fairly simple. It will also be fair to everyone who gives their time, loyalty, gold and deaths to progress the GUILD. This is a reward system and will be based on your guild rank. The class advisors (Officers) will be given more responsibility for those members within their respective class and who gets promoted and demoted based on their contributions to the raid / Guild. The Officers will give priority rolls to certain ranks, descending until someone who needs the gear rolls. For example: A piece of Tier Legs drops off of a Boss in Naxx There are three mages in the raid. One is a Core Raider, one is a Raider and one is a Member. The Core Raider gets priority to roll first on the time, if he/she doesn’t have the item. If he/she does not need the item, they can pass and allow the next rank the opportunity to either roll or pass, which means Raider’s a chance to a roll on the item or pass. Again, if the Raider doesn’t need, then the member gets a roll. (Any rank above Core Raider will roll WITH Core Raiders in regards to loot roll rights.) Initiates will not be allowed to roll on any loot, until they have completed their probationary state and become a full member of the Guild. It is a very easy system and will be fair. Those guildies who show up to raids (barring work/school/emergency issues) and those who are available to the raids even if they don’t get to go, showing their loyalty to the raid progression / guild as a whole, will get promoted or demoted based on this. The Class Leader / Advisor will have the ability to do so with the consent of the GM. Let's face it, coming to one raid a week because you can get the gear you want from it and skip the rest cause you don’t need it or won’t win loot will get you demoted and last in line for loot rolls as it should. If you show up to raids and are willing to do things for other people, be available for raids, even if you can't get in, without complaint, then your guild rank will reflect that. This will allow for those who help the guild the most to be rewarded for such. Issues regarding work and school, as long as you inform your class leader, will not affect your standing....though it will be at the Class leaders' discretion. I know a lot of you have been upset about new members or members that never show up except on a farmed instance getting rolls on gear you have spent a lot of time working for and winning. This will provide you the chance you deserve to be able to roll against other loyal guild members or the opportunity for you to pass the item down to the next lower rank(s). RANKS WILL BE FLUID! It will be based on your current assistance / attendance to the guild and raid, not on personal opinion of your character. The Guild Rank decisions (promotions or demotions) will be moderated and will be voted on by the GM and GUILD Officers before implementation. Officer meetings are conducted on Sunday Evenings to discuss Promotions and Demotions and other GUILD related issues. Poor attitudes in raids can and will affect your rank. If you have a problem in real life or otherwise; you can whisper your leader(s) to advise them of the situation. Negative or derogatory comments in guild or raid chat will not be tolerated and may affect your rank. One last factor will be your readiness at the start of the raid. You should be on time with all your regents, pots, mats, shards, gear repaired and ready to go. This is all common sense stuff and while in a perfect world we wouldn't need a rolling system, this is what we feel is the best way to go as our guild progresses.
Loot Drops: 1. Green Items should go to Guild Bank to be Disenchanted, To enchant Epic items that Guild member receive.
2. Blue items, should go to a guild member if it is an upgrade from the gear they have, if not they should be DE form the shard, unless they are BOE, then they go to the guild bank.
3. Epic drops be distributed according to http://www.wow-loot.com/. Primary classes get first pick, then secondary classes, and after will be Tertiary classes.
4. Gear distribution: One piece of Tier Gear and one non-Tier Gear per run, per person.
5. Patterns that drop will be rolled on by those in the raid, if they have been designated as a Guild representative.
Read the Policy:
It is critical that members understand what is expected of them. After reading this, please add the phrase "VooDoo Mojo" into your application with the date. This will be used as your acknowledgement that you understand the guild polices and are willing to adhere to them.
